Receiver boards
DataGrid receiver philosophy is unique. You may use a single receiver in your
application or you may combine as many as you want. With the appropriate
firmware these will combine to give you as much receiver resources your
application may call for. Each receiver therefore produces raw data measurements
(along with standalone navigation and housekeeping data). The raw data are then
combined in a single processing unit. Boards can be supplied to produce raw data
or as a combination with a board that has a processor engine for RTK.
Key Benefits
- Each receiver board has its own radio frontend with separate frequency
paths for each sub-band that the digital portion is made to receive. For
example GPS L1, GPS L2, GPS L5, GLONASS L1, and GLONASS L2 each have their
separate and dedicated frequency path for optimum performance. This is the
"no-compromise" approach to performance. Compare to receiver designs that
simply widened theirs thereby increasing their unwanted background,
sacrificing quality for quantity of trackable satellites.
- The digital receiver portion is reprogrammable. Its functions can
therefore be optimized as transmissions may change or new codes may be
transmitted. It is also possible to reallocate receiver resources to
increase sensitivity or change the number of satellites that may be tracked.
You may purchase OEM receivers with standard features and as your customer's
needs evolve DataGrid can develop custom firmware/hardware features or you
may want to differentiate your products to give them your brand specific
"feel". For example, we could develop custom firmware/hardware that turns
your high precision receiver into a highly sensitive one suitable for
indoors use. This is an illustrative example only since we do not recommend
using the highly distorted satellite signals found in the indoors
environment for precision measurements.
- Unlimited expandability through the ability to combine as many receiver
boards as your application may require ....
- High efficiency. Just turn on and off power to receiver boards as your
need for resources change.
Antennae
DataGrid's precision survey antennae are factory configurable for multiple
frequencies in the L-band, such as dual frequency GPS L1 and L2, or GPS/GNONASS
L1/L2. A stable phase center is achieved with a cavity backed, exponential
planar spiral antenna element. Low weight is a key property for ease of use in
the field and also for durability.
Key Benefits
- Individually calibrated versions available for the most demanding
precision applications.
- Very light at 270 g they are the market leaders.
